“Manifest plainness, embrace simplicity, reduce selfishness, have few desires.” ~Lao Tzu

How to Remove Selfishness

One of the golden keys to your spiritual journey is to offer service selflessly. Selfless service is to offer service from you heart with love, forgiveness, compassion and light. To offer selfless service is to be aligned with the Divine, Tao and all of heaven.

To serve selflessly is to serve wan ling, all countless souls of humanity, Mother Earth, and countless planets, stars, galaxies, and universes.

Service from the heart radiates the greatest love and compassion to others. It is healing and life transforming. To serve all souls is to gain virtue to uplift your soul in heaven. To serve is to make others happier and healthier.

In order to reach the state of selfless service we need to have discipline in our daily life to remove selfishness. If we are selfish we are creating bad karma that can cause sickness or blockages in every aspect of our life.

How can we remove our selfishness?

To remove our selfishness we need to discipline the following three things:

  • action – what you do
  • speech – what you say
  • though – what you think

The key to all life is to purify what we do, what we say, and what we think. The purpose of purification is to help us remove our greed, anger, and lack of wisdom. It is to help us remove our negative bad karma.

How to you tell if you are offering selfless service?

In one sentence:

If what you do, say, or think is only for you, you create bad karma; if what you do, say, or think is for others, you create good karma. – Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha

Why does selfishness create karma? A selfish person could cause a person to have unpleasant desires, such as greed or fame, wealth or power. A person could easily get lost and cause harm to others in trying to fulfill their desires. You could harm others with our actions, thoughts or speech. This harm creates bad karma.

The soul secret to offer selfless service is to keep your mind in your lower abdomen and chant a mantra nonstop. This takes some training and could possibly take few years to truly keep your mind in your lower abdomen at all times.

I like to visualize a golden light ball that is rotating and playing a song. I silently chant the Divine Soul Song of Love Peace and Harmony, or any other mantra that you deeply connect with. Visualize that your abdomen is like a CD player and your favorite song is playing.

By chanting a mantra in your abdomen you are aligning your soul heart mind and body with the Divine and Tao. You are connecting with all souls. Chanting is service. You are helping to serve all souls when you focus your mind in your abdomen because your abdomen is where the Tao is held.

Today try to keep your mind in your abdomen and chant your favorite mantra. Throughout the day if you forget just simply bring your attention back to your abdomen and chant again silently. Do this throughout the day. I wish you all success.
